Christine Rodriguez is an Afro-Dominican social worker who was born and raised in Washington Heights. She established her career in DV in 2014 soon after starting at VIP as a Counselor/ Advocate at our emergency shelter, Morivivi. In 2019, Christine’s role expanded from overseeing daily operations at Morivivi to include our transitional housing program, Casa Sandra. Christine was proudly recognized by The Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, and the Commissioner of the Mayor’s office to End Domestic & Gender Based Violence, Cecile Noel, as a 2022 Advocate of New York City which is the same year she earned her master’s degree in social work. She continues to combat IPV in her current role as Director of Housing Programs by creating streamlined and client centered transitions in preventing homelessness to sustaining permanent housing. Christine directly oversees our housing programs: Morivivi Safe Dwelling; Casa Sandra’s Transitional Housing for Social Change, Rapid Rehousing and Home+.
