Sexual Violence Project (SVP)

Providing support to survivors of sexual violence through individual and group sessions.

SVP provides culturally specific clinical support to survivors of sexual violence, with a focus on Latinx immigrants, through both individual and group sessions. Within our SVP groups, survivors find a community to share experiences, and deepen their understanding of the intersection between sexual violence and external factors such as gender roles, cultural expectations, and reproductive health.

During counseling sessions, a personalized space is crafted to unpack experiences of personal trauma. Survivors are able to build coping skills and learn grounding practices to effectively manage trauma responses.

Services include:

  • Psycho-Educational Counseling: Tailored counseling for survivors of sexual violence, providing a supportive environment for healing.

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): A 12-session clinical intervention specifically designed for survivors of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addressing trauma through a therapeutic framework.

  • Support Groups and Workshops: Engaging sessions exploring various healing modalities, fostering a holistic approach to recovery.

  • Supportive Case Management: Individualized assistance to address the unique needs of survivors as they navigate their healing journey.

“I wasn’t in the right place (before VIP), but now I feel like I am connected to someone who knows what I went through and knows what I need.”
